Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on way to bless struggling children in the developing world with a Christmas gift and share the good news of Jesus Christ! Edmonton Church of God is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to serve as a drop-off location. We invite our community to join us in demonstrating God’s Love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.
How can I contribute?
1. Pack your own Shoebox!
Shoeboxes and a brochure are available in the Church foyer before and after the Worship Service on Sundays. You can also pick up a shoebox from the Church Office – Tuesday to Friday between 9am and 2pm. Please return your packed shoeboxes to the Edmonton Church of God during collection week – November 14 – 20, 2022.
The following are the drop-off hours:
For more information on what to pack in your Shoebox visit www.samaritanspurse.ca/suggested-gifts
If you would like to volunteer during collection week to help receive Shoeboxes at the Edmonton Church of God please sign up here. We would love to have you help out.
2. Have a shoebox packed on your behalf!
Monetary donations will be accepted until November 14th. Donations can be made in person (cash or cheque payable to Edmonton Church of God) or online. When making your donation please indicate it is for ‘Shoeboxes – Operation Christmas Child’. All donations will be used to purchase items for the shoeboxes. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation.
3. Pray! Please join us in praying:
- For the safe and successful delivery of the shoeboxes to the children
- That the children who receive a shoebox, their families and communities will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ
Join us for our Shoebox sendoff on November 20 during the Sunday 10 am Worship Service.
