Seniors’ Ministry Team

We believe that seniors are vital to the health and ministry of the church. We appreciate their dedicated attendance at worship services and covet their faithful prayers for the church and for individuals. Their experiences with the Lord over many years are an encouragement to all and a testimony of God’s faithfulness and goodness.

We recognize that the “seniors” season of life often brings difficulty with it. There are many changes as bodies and minds age, health challenges crop up, and loneliness increases. However, we want to encourage our seniors to stay true to God through the ups and downs of this season.

Our pastoral staff cares for the elderly who need encouragement or who feel lonely through regular phone calls and in-person visitations if requested.

A number of our seniors reside in care facilities, especially at Millwoods Shepherd’s Care. Each week, we prepare a half hour video in the German language (which for many was their first language) full of encouraging songs, readings, and sermons. (YouTube: search “Gemeinde Gottes Edmonton”) Our desire is that they are blessed and encouraged by this outreach.

“Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green” Psalm 92:13-14.
